Big Picture Mosaics designs art residencies dedicated to the process of creating collaborative mosaic murals.

Rena Fruchter is an artist and educator living in Maryland.  Throughout her arts teaching career, Rena has explored the power of the arts to build communal experiences and to spark imagination, as well as to allow opportunities for deeper and bigger feeling and thinking in a safe and positive environment.  Rena, who received her BS in Art Education from the University of Maryland, was awarded her MA from George Washington University in Experiential Education and Jewish Cultural Arts.

Rena is a creative and experienced educator, with a particular flair and expertise for drama, storytelling and sharing experiences of Jewish culture. She is a passionate advocate for arts integration, and supports educators in creating memorable arts-based experinces that will have lifelong impact. Big Picture Mosaics is one of Rena's initiatives to create learning through the process of making art.
